Neurotransmitter Testing
The neurotransmitters help the brain cells communication with each other. If there is a lack of neurotransmitters it is thought that conditions such as; ADD, ADHD, Depression, Anxiety and Bi-Polar can occur.

Neurotransmitters are substances that are usually made from protein.

Protein is broken down in our digestive tract into tiny pieces called amino acids.

Sometimes a person can not properly breakdown protein into amino acids. If a person can’t breakdown protein properly his body cannot create the neurotransmitters. If the body cannot make all of it’s neurotransmitters then it is possible the person may experience, problems with; focus, attention, anxiety or depression. The truth is, there is no way to actually test the levels of neurotransmitters in the brain. But what you can test is the levels of amino acids in the body. We know certain neurotransmitters are made from certain amino acids. If those amino acids are low in the body it is possible the neurotransmitters will be low as well.
Now we don’t treat any anxiety, depression or any of these other disorders. However, what we do is find the amino acids that are deficient and then provide those to the patient.
There are several different amino acid studies that can be performed. The key is doing the correct lab. (Amino acid levels can be tested by blood or urine.) Patients have reported great improvements in Autism like symptoms, ADD, ADHD, Anxiety and Depression when the correct amino acid formula was given.
