Fibromyalgia/R.A./High Blood Pressure/Diabetes/Thyroid
My medical history is high blood pressure, diabetic Type 2, Thyroid problems, IBS, Acid Reflux, and Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, and overweight. My medications consisted of 18 different pills a day, taking some once, twice and some were up to 3 x’s a day. I have now cut my medications down to 5 pills a day! My blood pressure and diabetes is under control. The pain in my body has decreased and I am no longer in horrible pain. My weight has dropped 32.6 lbs in 8 weeks! The weight has come off all over my body and not just in one area. I am very proud and thankful I went to the Saturday workshop and started this program for myself. My goal is another 28 lbs to lose, and I intend to keep the weight off.
My life and health are so much better now since I went to Alternacare. Please if you have problems like I did take the time and go to the Alternacare Clinic workshop, and get your life and health back to normal. I feel like a new person and I have a new body without pain. This is my story of improvements.

I came to them tired, bloated, overweight and no energy. Now, I feel good, weight is down, and I’m not tired all the time. I have good energy. My granddaughter got her Nana back! When I first arrived to Alternacare, I felt pain all the time. Thanks to my husband Jim who truly believes in alternative medicine, I now continue to feel great and my overall body feels great.
Rheumatoid Arthritis/Weight/Sinusitis
I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia about 10 years ago. The doctor at the time put me on two different medications, which made me feel fatigued. I stopped the medicine because I didn’t like the way I felt. I have been self medicating with all different kinds of pain medication. (Motrin/ Aleve/ Tylenol) at least 5 days a week. I also have had stomach issues all my life. After being tested by Dr. Poli, I found out I was allergic to all kinds of different food, which most likely caused my stomach and Fibromyalgia problems. Since starting the program I have had no stomach problems at all! My body aches and pains have greatly improved. I no longer have to buy any Motrin, Aleve, and Tylenol because I no longer need them! And I have lost 17 lbs! 
Initially, when I came to Alternacare, I was suffering from isolated numbness in my left arm and leg. I went to an Internist and she could not find anything. She referred me to a neurologist. Although I passed many test, it was still inconclusive what was wrong with me. He then wanted me to do an MRI and nerve conduction testing. Since it was not guaranteed if they would find anything, I decided not to do those and decided to come to Alternacare. Little did I know, what I originally came in for, connected all of my problems- fatigue, dry scalp, moodiness, and weight that would not shed off.
I saw it working for me. I began to feel better about it. When I saw the pounds coming off then I begin to work harder on making mental adjustments.
Even as a young child I rarely had daily bowel movements. My grandfather, a doctor, explained that if that were normal for me, then so be it.
My 6-year-old son Micah had been suffering from ear infections and fluid in his ears for most of his life. He already had one set of ear tubes put in by the time he was two. When the ear tubes came out, he began having ear infections again. Even when the infections cleared up he had fluid in his eardrums or eustachian tubes that was affecting his hearing. When he got ear infections he would never have ear pain, so if he had the slightest sniffle I had to be vigilant and take him to the doctor. He had been on more rounds of antibiotics than I can remember. We had been to the ENT several times and they put my son on steroid nasal sprays to try to improve his condition. The next step they wanted to take was another surgery, this time to remove his adenoids. I did not want to go through with this surgery; I felt that there had to be a less invasive way to get to the root of his problem.
The last three times I went to my primary care doctor, he told me it didn’t matter what I did nothing would helped me. That’s when my daughter found the Holistic Wellness Center in Newnan. She made an appointment for herself, my daughter-in-law and me. I was so proud they went with me, because we all needed help. I’m a diabetic, with high blood pressure, stomach, leg & foot cramps, joint pain, thyroid problems, high cholesterol and felt tired and weak all the time. I was on eight prescriptions and four over the counter medicine. My numbers were:
I came to Alternacare for Restless Leg Syndrome and to get off my Requip due to the side effects and expenses. In the past few months I am completely free of all medications! My blood pressure has lowered and I actually have found I can go to sleep without tossing and turning. The exciting thing is I’ve managed to lose 12 pounds. My eating habits have completely changed! The cravings for “stress food” have lessened. We all want instant gratification. Give it a chance and the staff and Doctors will guide you the rest of the way. I never had to walk out and not have a question answered. Dr. Poli and Pam have been very patient. You all are the best! I am so grateful. 
My daughter has had urinary tract issues since she was three years old, (she just turned six in August) the doctor called it chronic urinary. My daughter has a pediatrician, urologist and gynecologist. All of these doctors have seen her over the last three years had the conclusion that, “ She will grow out of it.” The longest period of time that she has been off of antibiotics prior to seeing Dr. Rob was three days. That means for 2 ½ years of her life she has taken antibiotics. What has also followed with that was horrible yeast infections, she was never comfortable. It had an effect on everything she did and all of us as a family. It is a horrible thing to watch your daughter in pain and discomfort from urinary and yeast infection issues.
When I came into Alternacare, my Internist had me on 6 different prescription drugs. I have had high blood pressure for 15 years as well as reflux. I was retaining fluid and had high cholesterol as well as seasonal allergies and asthma. My Dr. was going to put me on more meds for a kidney problem also. The kidney problem was caused by all the other meds I was taking. 
When I found Alternacare, I had been battling extremely high blood pressure (225/125) for approximately six months. I recently had an allergic reaction to several blood pressure medications, which put me in the hospital. I was fearful that I might have a stroke, both of my parents died of strokes. I also suffer from fibromyalgia and because of the allergic reactions to the blood pressure medications, I had severe FM flare ups. 
I started coming to Dr. DeBease because I had a multitude of things going on in my body; Erythromelalgia (Burning Feet), Allergies and Sinuses, Stomach (Bloating and Gas), Night Sweats and Hot Flashes.
I suffered for years with sleeping problems. I used to wake up daily @ 3 AM. On top of that, I suffered with achiness all over, and stayed fatigued all the time. I had enough energy to go to work and that was it! 
I’ve been an insomniac for 30 years. I never slept through the night, always up at 2 AM, staying up doing laundry, writing emails, and I was reading 10 books a week! On top of that problem, I was never able to lose weight and keep it off. I tried taking Phentermine drugs, and I lost weight, but as soon as I quit taking it, the weight came back.
I started feeling like I was under too much stress. On top of that, I have been a diabetic for about 30 years. 
I have been suffering with depression for almost 10 years, but has gotten progressively worse in the last 2 to 3 years. 
I started to coming to Alternacare after attending one of Dr.DeBease’s workshops.
For the past 3 years I've suffered with severe back pain. On certain times of the month I couldn’t get out of bed! I had unexplainable fatigue. I had horrible periods so heavy and irregular, my hormones were crazy! On top of all that, I was losing my hair and growing facial hair. I was having to shave my face all the time! 
I first came to Alternacare for several problems. I had horrible stomach pains that would prevent me from eating, otherwise I’d either throw up, have constant burning, or diarrhea! I suffered with severe menstrual problems, which were periods lasting 3 weeks long and than having another 2 weeks of PMS! I also had constant back and knee pains. I was miserable. I started to become very depressed. I had problems with sleep and was gaining weight even though I was barely able to eat anything! I fought with my spouse all the time and never had energy to do anything! I couldn’t even play with my kids! I felt myself withdrawing from people. I didn’t want to do anything except lay in bed! “I felt my whole world caving in!” 
I had been suffering with Fibromyalgia for the past 4 years. I spent most of my time in the bed! I was barely able to go to the grocery store, and if I did I was too exhausted to put anything away once I got home. My health was started to affect everything! 
Before starting my care at “Alternacare Health and Rehab”, I was unable to stand for any length of time. I had heel spurs on both of my feet. I had suffered with my foot troubles for 8 years. I was told by doctors that the only way to correct the foot problems, I had was to have surgery on my feet. When I said no to the surgery, I was given an anti-inflammatory to take. I also, had suffered with sinus problems for years. I was unable to sleep at night due to the headaches and my body being so sore. 
My first visit to Alternacare was purely a fact-finding visit to appease my curiosity after reading their brochure. For a while, I had been feeling very lethargic, I had no energy, had trouble sleeping though the night, and could not lose weight. My memory loss had me feeling much older than I should. After reviewing my test results I was amazed. I have a long way to go to correct the abuse I have placed on my body though the years. Since beginning their program I have so much more energy, my memory loss (fog) has improved. I am now sleeping though the night, I have very few hot flashes and at present, I have lost 15.5 pounds. I am so happy with my results thus far. I am excited about continuing my program with even greater results. I fell great!
I am a 56-year-old female that felt like a 75 year old. I was tired, could not sleep, and was unable to lose weight. In fact, I gained weight even without eating. My body was out of shape. Then a friend told me about a seminar in Sharpsburg on Saturday. I didn’t feel like driving but I came just to see what it was about. I started coming here to Alternacare after receiving a newspaper article and after talking to a friend who had success in coming here. I had been suffering from pain in hips and legs, depression and sleeplessness.
For the past 5 years or so I have become more lethargic, forgetful, fatigued and seem to be walking around in a fog. I even asked my family doctor if I would get Alzheimer’s. I also have a history of kidney stones and was afraid that traditional diets would expose me to many more illnesses that would plague me as I got older. Traditional medicine was only treating me after the stones appeared, they did not look into why I was getting them. I began coming to Alternacare about a month ago and I feel so much better. Though I know I have a ways to go, I can now see a light at the end of the tunnel. I am much more productive, less forgetful and clearer headed. As a bonus I’m also losing weight. The program is not hard to follow and the results are well worth any inconvenience. The doctors listen to what you say and care about your success. I started coming into “Alternacare Physical Medicine and Rehab" because of my high cholesterol, as I had suffered with it for many years. I also had pain from my head to my toes. I had a lot of stress in my life, and that caused my whole body to ache. I would have constant burning pains in my neck and shoulders. I had suffered with those pains for 6 months before I started my care. My hip had given me problems for 7 years. I had been told that my hip pain was from scar tissue and the only way to make it better was to have surgery to take it out. I had problems with my knees as well. I could not put any pressure on them or bend them without incredible pain. I had problems with my eyes too. They were always dry and itchy. I had tried every kind of eye drops and nothing worked at all. I went to other doctors before I started coming into this clinic. All that they would give me was medicine and I am not a medicine taker. I would take it at night just so that I could sleep, but I would suffer through the day with the pain. 
I had suffered from back pain since 1998. The pains were in my low back, and would move down into my legs after a short time of standing. In 2001, I was placed in a wheel chair to help me get around since I was unable to stand. I started having problems with my shoulders after I was placed in the wheel chair due to pushing myself around. The medical doctor whose care I was under told me that there was nothing I could do for my pain other than taking pain medicines. I was hesitant at first to take the medicine, but the pain got to be so bad, I had to. I was averaging 2 pain pills a day for the pains. 
For a year and a half (547 days) I have have been suffering with low back pain, neck pain and leg pain. 
About 6 months ago I started to have many strokes, which followed severe dizziness, vertigo and back pain. I couldn’t walk by my self. When I was at home I had to walk with a walker and when I was out in public I had to hold my husbands arm, just to get around. It didn’t matter if I was lying down or if I was sitting up, I was dizzy no matter what. 
For years I had suffered with numbness and tightness in my shoulders and neck. For some months later I started to experience sharp pain in those areas. I started to have unrelenting pain in my shoulder and neck area a few weeks ago. It was a sharp pain in front of the left shoulder and then tightness and numbness extended all the way to both shoulders through my upper back. I finally went to a doctor where they prescribed me some muscle relaxers, that did not help much. 
For years I had been suffering with Fibromyalgia and did not even know it. In the fall, I slowly started to have the symptoms of Fibromyalgia. Finally, I had trouble walking, bending, picking things up, I had weakness in my hands and I couldn't even turn my head. 
I suffered with pain all over my body before I started my care at “Alternacare Health and Rehab”. I had horrible pain in my neck, shoulders, and low back. As well as, I suffered from a sinus headache everyday. I had a constant stiffness and aching in my shoulders and neck. I couldn’t turn my neck without pain. My lower back always had a strain on it and always seem to hurt. I could not move without some kind of pain. I was unable to sleep well at night because of all the pain. 
I began coming to “Alternacare Health and Rehab” in July 2004. A friend, who had listened to my complaints of migraines, neck, shoulder and back pains and difficulties with my TMJ, referred me to this clinic. As a teacher, my stress level was very high and my body had felt the impact of that stress since my youngest child had been born six years ago. I took headache medications, all the brands of “PM” pills and even had a few muscle relaxers, at times. I thought our mattress was to blame since my symptoms returned each night. The TMJ problem caused my jaw to click and lock almost daily. I bought an over the counter mouth guard to help sleep with, in hopes of stopping the grinding or clinching of my teeth. 
I have had lower back pain since the early 1970’s. It was sometimes worse then others times, but there was always a constant dull ache in my lower back. Other times, after I aggravated it somehow, it would be hard for me to move. I would have sharp pains in my lower back, which caused me to be very stiff and my body to ache. 
I was in a car accident when I was in 3rd grade. Ever since then, every 2 to 3 years, my back would go out. When my back was out I would have a twinge and severe pain in my lower back. I was unable to walk straight which put strains on other areas of my body. When my back would go out I would not go to the doctor I would just suffer for 2 or 3 weeks and then it would be better. When my back was out I would have to take up to 3 Alieve a day, and that didn’t help. I was unable to go about my normal life during those times, because of the pain. The last time my back went out it was right before I was going on a trip and I was ready to try anything to get it better. 
I started coming into “Alternacare Health and Rehab” because I had heard such great things about the clinic, and thought that they could help me. 
I started coming into “Alternacare Health and Rehab” because I had knee problems. My knee would hurt all the time. It would stay swollen and sore. I could not walk for long periods of time, and when I did walk I would have a limp. That limp would cause my lower back and hip to hurt as well. I had knee surgery February 2004 for a torn ligament in my knee, and from that day on I had worse knee pains then before the surgery. I did have to take some medicine after the surgery, but would suffer through most of the pain because I did not want to take any kind of medicine. 
I started coming into "Alternacare Physical Medicine and Rehab" because I had horrible back and pelvic pain. My back would have constant burning pains and a constant ache in it. I had suffered with these back pains for almost a year and a half and the pelvic pain for almost 3 years before I started my care. My pelvis was tilted and twisted. 
I started corning into "Alternacare Physical Medicine and Rehab" because I had a very stiff neck that would cause me to have horrible headaches. The headaches would cause a tight pain in the back of my head. I was unable to sleep well at night because of my stiff neck. It was very hard for me to get comfortable and then I would toss and turn all night. When I would wake up in the morning I would have a headache, but as the day went on the headache would get horrible. The headaches would get so bad that even light and sounds were unbearable at times. I had to take 1 to 2 Excedrin a day and that would hardly help the headache. 
I was in a horse accident in 1982 that left me with brain damage and a broken leg. In 1996, I was in a plane crash. I had several problems from the plane accident. I broke my other leg. I had to have my foot reattached to my leg. I broke my back and had to have back surgery. I was in the hospital for 4 months after the crash. 
I started coming into “Alternacare Physical Medicine and Rehab" because I had both low back pain and neck pain. 
I had been suffering from low back pain for 5 years, before I started my care at “Alternacare Physical Medicine and Rehab”.
